Surprise trips are hard. But somehow I put it all together, got him time off work, planned out our days and optional plans and of course hotels, rental car, plane tickets. Planning and replanning and searching for "must see" "must do" "must eat"'s.
A week before his birthday/our trip, I let him open his "present." I got him a new travel backpack and some travel size toiletries and then let him guess. P O R T L A N D. And to top it off, my parents were coming to Arizona to watch our babies. A kid-free trip!
